JSE National Youth Financial Literacy Day

I decided to make a plan and go to the JSE National Financial Literacy Day at the JSE in Sandowns Sandton held on Friday the 27th of July 2012. I took the brave and practical decision to make it a day trip by bus. Left Bloemfontein at 01:00 Friday Morning and I arrived in Johannesburg at 06:30. The workshop started at 09:00 and ended at 15:00. My bus left later that evening.
I arrived in Johannesburg a Gautrain Virgin smelling of Hermes's wonderful scent and left with a hope for our country, it symbolises our country's aspirations.
Entertainment: I have to be honest I was sceptical about the idea of having the edu-tainment piece but I was quickly converted to its biggest fan. The Tempo of the piece sent jolts of energy and excitement throughout the audience. Pure genius. I loved the Mam' Fikile Character.
Speakers and Topics:
I thoroughly enjoyed all the speakers and what they had to say. From the humorous Advocate Sankie Morata to wonderfully realistic Lady from the National Creditor regulator( Manala Botolo). However I had my favourites, Mr Mauwane Kotane from Mamepe Capital is the face of many of our country's aspirant youth and Mrs Leigh Bevis of Strate gave us an insight into seeking employment was has left me truly changed! I have to say that even for those who are well versed in investment learnt something. The Mandate has been met and exceeded.

Food: Being a student at heart I was pleased with the large selection of finger foods provided to the delegates. The food impressed even those like myself with an experienced and critical palette.
Venue: It was only fitting that the event be held at the JSE giving delegates a chance to see where the wheels of our country's economy turn. To the bemusement and slight disappointment of some, there was no trading floor! The ablution facilities were clean and hygienic which scored the JSE brownie points(**,).
