Vanity

I was walking on campus with a rather beautiful and sexy friend of mine I noticed that we got helped more quickly and with bigger smiles than when I was alone sans my arm candy.
I am convinced more than ever that sexy beautiful people have much easier lives than those who are on the heavier end of the scale and those who are less aesthetically appealing

People can say what they want, when you are heavier you are treated like a cow that's making its way through the meadow, people see you but they would rather look the other way. Mina Moo is cute for a few minutes but no one wants to see her all day.

When you are hefty, you have to be more funny, louder and you have to have an amazing personality just to be consider worthy. Whereas thin beautiful people are given attention just merely based on their looks, they don't have to say anything or even think. No really cares if they have an opinion on current affairs or if they have a pleasing personality. Cherokee is not well admired for her intellect!!! *hides* .All they do is just be.

Little experiment have a fuller and more rounder person order a burger at Mickey Dees the first thing that comes to people's mind is: why are you eating this, you should really have a salad. Should an ultra slim I-will-never-get-fat person order double their body weight in Quarter Pounders, the response will be, poor thing is probably hungry.

Another thing that makes thin people better is their self given right to tell others they are fat. I have noticed that it's more common nowadays to have the audacity to tell someone that they are fat and for some unfathomable reason one is supposed just accept this departure from basic manners and etiquette.
It's pretty evident that sexy, thin beautiful people have no real problems because well nothing batting their eyelids and looking pretty can't solve. If they think they have problems they should try a free drink at a club or getting away from a traffic officer without a ticket, with their beautiful souls! It's near impossible.

In my salad days as demmie/student assistant I noticed how those who had more boob than brains were assisted more readily. Those who had more brawn than functional braincells got the attention of the opposite sex and miraculously always finished early.

I honestly think such people should allowed to be themselves, no use getting upsetting because you were last in the queue when looks were be lavishly handed out to others. Just get a doctorate because your looks aren't going to take you places.
P.S Beautiful people do enjoy winning the genetic lottery! Hehe

The Discovery Invest Leadership Summit 2012

After nearly four years of wishing, hoping and entering competitions in hope of attending The Discovery Invest Leadership Summit, I finally won the ticket thanks to the summit's twitter #JustAsk Competition. After a long 6 hour bus ride I arrived at Park Station and made the long trek through Park Station to the Gautrain Park Station.
The following were the speakers that spoke at the event

Adrian Gore
(CEO of Discovery Health)

Garry Kasparov
( Chess Grandmaster turned Political Activist)

Pravin Gordhan
(Our Current Finance Minister)

Sir Terry Leahy
(CEO (former) Tesco)

Professor Tim Noakes
(Professor of Sports Science)
He brought Chad Le Clos as a surprise to the great delight of audience

Professor Michael Porter
Panel Discussion( Sizwe Nxasana- Ceo of First Rand Limited, Stephen Koseff- Ceo of Investec Group and Richard Gnodde- Co CEO of Goldman Sachs)

Tony Blair
(Former UK Prime minister)

Absence of Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu.
I guess it's what makes The Arch Bishop world renowned, his unwavering belief in his values and sticking them out.

Venue
The venue is your standard high brow meeting hall. The facilities were of a high standard and it be joined to Sandton City via the Skywalk was a definite plus.

Food
What can I say? The quality was great and so was the variety. I still believe that I could have made better muffins.
Delegates
I saw a few of my idols in various areas of society from your Eusebius McKaiser(Intellectual and Debating Extraordinaire to Mondli Makhanya ( Editor of Sunday Times), Dr Precious Moloi Motsepe and many other wonderful people.

Many thanks to the following people I met at the Summit: Bharti, Lara, Phindie, Michael, Christopher, Lwazi and Sipho. I had a groupie moment which rendered me completely speechless when I saw Eusebius McKaiser and Mondli Makhanya arm's length away. I greeted Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe and she greeted back (sheds tears of joy)

Thanks to The Discovery Invest Summit for the ticket and an experience of a life time.

New Beginnings

Happy Spring Day!!!
I went for a run this morning, I was greeted by the greenest fettle , the broadest smiles and the sweetest smells.
This brand new day and month brings plenty of candy for the eyes and the taste buds, as should be the case. We have more energy to do more things, more courage to bare skin and to adorn blindingly bright clothes. It is in the same spirit that we should do a bit of Spring Cleaning in our lives. We owe it to ourselves to live fuller, happier and less burdensome lives.
Ask yourself these questions in each of the areas
1. Why is it here?
2. What purpose is it serving?
3. Would my life be better or worse without it?
4. What should I introduce?
5. What needs to be kept?

10 Areas In Most of Our Lives that could do with a bit of sprucing up!

Relationships/Friendships
Career
Living Space
Money Matters
Spiritual Life
Academics
Business
Body and Health
Hobbies/Habits
Service to others

Have a blast *sprinkles all things colourful bright and right* Haha.

Friend Types

The I use, bleed and Take advantage Friend
This friend will only contact you when they need something and until such a time they will not bother communicating with you. Months go without a care in the world but when favours season comes they are the first to call.
Resolve: Kick them to the curb

The I'm Embarrassed We are Friends Friend
I know only too well about this sort of friend, they are will never acknowledge you or your friendship in public because their so called friends don't approve of you. But as soon as they are away from prying eyes they are quick to be friends again. Spineless Cowards!
Resolve: Toss to the nearest rubbish heap

The We've been friends forever but no longer have anything in common Friend
No one is really to blame for the state of our friendship, it's a shadow of it's former self and unlike a job where long term service has rewards, this friendship offers nothing!
Resolve: Place in the 50/50 Box

The I used to date your friend Friend.
This is a tough situation because you have to balance your loyalty to your friend and their ex who happens to be a friend. If people are not going to be mature about things then I guess a what would a reasonable man do test would have to be applied.
Resolve: Place on Ice until further maturity

The Praise and Admire Me Friend
This is the friend that will never call or communicate with you unless they want to share some success with you. Their new this and that will be forced down your throat and Lord forbid things go wrong, they go silent until further success.
Resolve: Serve a large dose of their medicine and observe vital signs.

The Ride or Die Friend
You have ugly cried together, you have laughed and you have spoken about the time you lunged in the gym and farted. This friend will be yours still the end of time.
Resolve: Keep them in your heart.

The Friend with a PHD
This friend is critical of everything you do, you are not enough of this and you are too much of the other. Lord forbid you experience some sort of success this friend will quickly attribute it to luck.
Resolve: Suggest a good shrink

The I have more faces than a disco ball has pieces of Glass Friend.
This friend sways with the wind, a jelly fish on two legs. Wheat fields have greater back bone than this sort of friend. They are everything to everyone and sings a different tune to every audience.
Resolve: Let go unless you aspire to be a politician!

Dj Kaznova The Interview.

I have been wanting to do this interview for quite a bit and I'm glad I finally got the chance to pick his brain, as well as shed a bit of light in the club lighting lit life of a dj.
I have to hand it to Kazi for doing what many town of Welkom didn't think was a possibility. He's a big dreamer with this head in the clouds and feet firmly placed on the ground. He's Level headed and grounded, not your everyday dj and I hope he remains so( Please stay away from open or closed gates)!

Where does Kaznova come from?

Born and raised in Welkom, Free State

where does this interest in DJ’ing and music come from? Be honest!!! Did you do it to get girls? LOL

LOL at 1st yeah the whole idea of getting groupies was the aim but that quickly changed I feel in love with music and wanted to share my skills with the world.

When you realised you had an interest and skill where did you go from there?

I decided to go study Music Production and Sound engineering at the Soul Candi Institute of Music in 2010

you did attend the Soul Candi Dj/Music academy right? How is the environment there? We all assume that you are in this carefree environment with parties and celebrities and all things fun.

Yes, the environment there was great, got to meet a lot of people mainly up and coming artists and celebs.

What are your thoughts on the stereotype that dj’s are promiscuous casanovas? (Not reference to your Dj name, hehe).

LOL, well we all are humans at the end of the day, the problem comes with the whole idea that EVERY DJ is promiscuous when it comes to girls which isn’t the case for some, like me.

Is it true that groupies throw their unmentionables (undies) at DJs? We need to know.

LOL, that hasn’t happened to me yet, but ask me in a few years and I will tell you.

Can people make a living out being a Dj? Have you bought your first bottle of Aces Champagne yet? Do share.

LOL, well I’m not into expensive bottles but Yes you can make a living but only if you make it your career and not just a hobby, if you have a good album out and singed to a good record company you are pretty much doing well (you won’t starve).

How are you dealing with the piracy situation?

It’s there and one thing I can say that I learnt at SCIM (Soul Candi Institute of Music) is that any publicity is good publicity in a way, it’s sad that its happening but it won’t just end anytime soon.

Who are your musical role models and why?

Dj Kent, Dada Life, Dirty South, DJ Black Coffee but to name a few – Their skills amaze me and at times they are my inspiration to do better.

I saw the StrongBow interview. What was that about?

I entered into the YFM/StrongBow South Africa Mega Star Competition and I made it into the finals were I came 2nd place.

What are your family sentiments towards your career path?

They support me in everything I do, I also study so I plan to have a backup plan IF I ever need it.

Aspirations? Where do you see yourself in the future?

The 1st South African producer/Dj on the Dj Mag top 100 dj’s of the world, Highest Paid Dj in the World and a successful Business Man

What are you going to do with your first R1 Million cheque?

Buy my mom a house and the rest I invest.

We all have the moments when we just reach a point where nothing is going right and we want to throw in the towel. Have you had such? What kept you motivated?

Yes a lot actually, it’s about remembering why you started at the 1st place and what you want out of it, we all have down days but my pick me up is listening to my favourite artists and picturing myself there because I have achieved certain things I never thought I would which means that there is hope if focus and faith are in place.

Let's get a bit more personal! A friend of mine once said that everyone knows not to date a Dj. Does being a Dj making it easier or more difficult for you to date?

LOL, it depends but honestly dating aint the problem that’s kinda easy finding the right girl with the right mentality who supports you and truly wants to be with you regardless of your career is hard.

Do you find that girls want to date because you are a Dj? How do you differentiate a groupie from a potential?

LOL, good question. Uhmm in my experience there’s a certain way a groupie would act towards you than a potential, for instance if a girl is forever talking about you in regards to the people you meet and the places you go to all the time to me she’s a suspect.

What's a day like in your life?

Pretty normal, I study/produce/watch series/ watch movies/ meet with friends on a weekday schedule on weekends that’s where I find myself doing the total opposite if I am booked for a event that’s outside of JHB I travel there and go BUCK, I’m a very quiet guy but when out I go crazy.

10 Parting Shots. Just one word answers
1. Favourite Drink: Southern Comfort and Lime + Lemonade
2. Pet Hate: I hate all pets, I don’t see myself owning one anytime soon.
3. Brains or Beauty: Brains of course
4. Dogs or Cats: none but since I have to choose id say a cat.
5. Yellow Bones or Dark Chocolate: Yellow Bone
6. Merc or Beemer: Merc
7. Books or DVDs: DVDs
8. Miami or Ibiza: Ibiza!!
9. Soccer or Cricket: Soccer
10. Welkom or JHB: JHB

Always and Forever Part 3

Dear
“When you have seen as much of life as I have, you will not underestimate the power of obsessive love.”
― J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

I have come to realise that our communications have become fodder for your blog and you know what: it's okay, I want them to know how I feel. I want them to know that when you end up alone in your palatial home it's not because you didn't find love. I want them to know you turned down a heart that loved you because of your rules.

I know might have not won this war yet but I have won this battle. The mere fact that you are engaging me and expanding effort means I got a response out of you. If you weren't open to the idea you wouldn't have spent so much time on this quest of mine. Your razor sharp words are wounds right now but in time they will be scars of a war I won.

Cold shower? I have taken so many that I am immune to the cold of the water and the cold of your heart. Because I am your friend I know what you want and that's why I would be perfect for you.

I want to say Fotsek and go to hell but that would only kill me. I would be ripping my heart out to spite my body. I'm so frustrated by you and you little rules!!! Fuck rules because they'll fuck you over one day! What do you want me to do?

I can't love someone else but you. If that makes me an idiot, this idiot loves you with all of it's heart

“It’s always funny watching something so beautiful not know how beautiful it really is. It’s sad even.”
― Holly Hood, Ink: Twisted Magic

P.S I've taken indefinite leave I'm coming up to Bloem and I'll be there until you love me back.
