Back on The Wagon

After two separate hospital visits each over a week long and several weeks of inactivity I have been given the go ahead to start exercising.
I missed the pleasure of my hour long runs and more times than not I had to dig deep to push through raw shins and stiff legs. Running brings me such great pleasure not to mention the weight loss it brings.
I am excited and nervous at the same time, I can't wait to get out there but I am worried about my weeks of inactivity and having to go back to a slower pace. 8 Weeks of base training I have been told! That's how long it will take me to go back to my old fitness level.
Hopefully come Spring I'll be in a better off position and I'll be able to experience the first blooms while hitting the concrete! P.S I am starting a running club for beginners and anyone who likes running. Jabu do the right thing!!!

Friendly or Flirtatious

You walk across to my table or I walk past you our eyes lock and I give a gentle smile that says hello and the next thing I get is a smile that comes come over. Being my usual amiable self, I giggle and move along. That was a complete stranger and I exchanged the facial gestures and body language appropriate for strangers.

Most of the time the encounter ends on good terms, the next time we see each other, be it in a bank queue or in an isle at our favourite grocery store, we greet and possibly exchange a few laughs and a hug. It ends there; no award conversations which mask a desire to move into the not so platonic space.
However, there are those moments that random brief encounters are used as reference and supporting points as to the supposed flirtation the other person thinks is happening between the two of us. The encounter in the parking lots in the mall is now seen as a perfect place to exchange digits. That's when "I'd like to know you better" and " You can't deny the chemistry between us" come in. You are left dazed and amazed by these worlds. I smile and hug most if not all my friends but why is this soul thinking that it's me being flirtatious.
Blushing and shocked, I walk away back to my existence where there is nothing wrong with being courteous and warm towards people and they don't think it's an invitation to starting something.

A few weeks later you meet again but this time things aren't so rosey. You are met with hostile look or even worse you are accused of playing hard to get and of being a shameless flirt or more intense a tease. Before you attached such a label on me did you ever stop to think that I'm just being friendly and if I were to be flirtatious you would know.

The world is a strange place where being a genuinely nice person is seen as others as a socially accepted cover for lack of a better word being: down right nasty. I guess some people aren't used to being showered with warm and friendly attention. Flirting is great and so being friendly.
Like all signals and messages some a clearer than others. Forgive me in advance if my friendly gestures are understood as flirting but if I am however flirting, let the games begin.

Feeling a bit under the weather. I am armed with a box of tissues, bottle full of water and warm blankies ready to take on this full. I'm 7.1 kg lighter than when I started this detox. Craving some coca cola and hot wings!!!! *hides*

Mr and Mrs Makhubalo's 30th Wedding Anniversary

I am one for big shows of affection and what's bigger than a 30 year anniversary. Dimpho dragged me off to Mr and Mrs Makhubalo's 30 Year Wedding anniversary in the leafy Suburb of Bayswater. We were ushered in by particularly friendly ladies who showed us our way to a beautifully decorated table: Table Number 14.
We were treated to a healthy serving of speeches on marriage and how to build long lasting ones. From the 8 Bridges of Long Lasting marriages to a humorous speech by Ntate Makhubalo's brother. I could help myself from laughing! That was a definite high point. My favourite speech of the night was Mom's Rosie's speech! Not in memory do I recall so moving and inspirational a speech. Her choices of words and emotions spoke volumes about the sort of person she is, her love for children, husband, family and friends. It nearly brought a tear to my eyes! Her kids have done her proud and I felt privileged to have shared such a wonderful experience with everyone that was there. I even adopted a cutie pie baby! Baby Kazimla! Wishing the happy couple many more years together!
So inspired to get married and love everyone wholeheartedly!

Food: 10 out of 10. We were spoilt for choice, well seasoned and generous portions. The cooling fresh and free flowing Juice was greatly appreciated as it kept us cool and hydrated during the ceremony. I love the Non Alcoholic sparkling juice.
Decor/Ambience: 10 out 10 Great guests who enjoyed the ceremony and were lively. I love the decor thanks to its african flair, the tent was cool during the afternoon and warm at night! I appreciated that!
Venue: 10 out of 10. It was held at the happy couple's magnificent matrimonial home
